That is exactly why we are so excited to welcome The Church Sisters to Wayfarer Appalachia for an upcoming night of music you will not want to miss. Sarah and Savannah Church have been captivating audiences since they were young girls. At only 12 years old, they released their first gospel album, Farther Along, a remarkable beginning that hinted at the road ahead. They followed that release with two more self-produced albums, There's You and a self-titled project, building a sound and presence that would carry them far beyond their early years.
Their journey quickly gained momentum. In 2012, The Church Sisters performed for audiences across the Midwest while opening for Brandon Heath on the Blue Mountain Tour. Their unmistakable harmonies and heartfelt performances introduced them to a growing audience, and it became clear they were not simply promising young artists. They were the real thing.
Over the years, they have appeared on beloved television programs including Larry's Country Diner, Country's Family Reunion, and Daystar Network's Gospel Music Showcase. They have also recorded alongside some of the most respected names in music, including Dolly Parton, Vince Gill, Marty Stuart, Brad Paisley, and many others.
Their career has included collaborations with Grammy Award-winning producer Carl Jackson on the compilation albums Mark Twain: Words and Music and Orthophonic Joy, adding even more depth to an already impressive musical path.
In 2016, The Church Sisters signed their first record deal and began work on their debut country record with Grammy Award-winning producer Julian Raymond. That chapter led to the release of A Night At the Opry in May 2018, a project that reflected both their reverence for classic country and their own unmistakable artistry.
Their talent has taken them to stages across the country and beyond, including fairs and festivals and iconic venues such as the Ryman Auditorium and Bridgestone Arena.
One of their most notable appearances came during the 2015 CMA Awards, where they sang backup vocals for Eric Church and Hank Williams Jr. That kind of stage says something. So does the fact that, no matter how far their music has traveled, their sound still carries the warmth, honesty, and depth that first made people fall in love with it. After stepping away from making music together at the end of 2019, Sarah and Savannah made the exciting decision to reunite in 2022.
Since then, The Church Sisters have returned to the stage with renewed energy, performing fan favorites along with brand-new material as they work toward the release of a new album.
And now, that journey brings them to Wayfarer Appalachia.
There is something especially fitting about welcoming artists like The Church Sisters into a place like this. At Wayfarer, live music should feel personal. It should feel close. It should feel like a memory being made while you are still living it.
Their sound, shaped by gospel roots, country soul, and years of remarkable experience, belongs in a setting where every lyric matters and every harmony has room to linger.
This upcoming event is a chance to experience two artists whose story has been built on talent, faith, perseverance, and the kind of musical connection that cannot be manufactured. From gospel beginnings to national stages, from time apart to a meaningful reunion, The Church Sisters bring a story with them every time they sing.
We are honored to have them at Wayfarer Appalachia, and we cannot wait to share the evening with you.
Come hungry. Come ready. Come settle in for a night of beautiful harmonies, heartfelt songs, and the kind of Appalachian atmosphere that makes live music feel exactly the way it should.
