This March and April, the Velvet Room will be filled with a lineup of artists who bring heart, craft, and their own distinct sound to the stage here in Tazewell, Virginia.
The current House Sessions calendar includes Sean Blackwell on March 19 and April 16, Joey Davis on March 25 and April 4, Bowman & Burr on March 26, Benny Haggerty on March 27, and Jonah Carden on April 23.
There is something special about the Velvet Room this time of year. It is intimate in all the right ways. It gives every lyric a little more weight and every note a little more room to breathe. These are not just performances to listen to in the background. These are evenings to settle into, to share with friends, to pair with a great meal and a drink in hand, and to experience up close.
We begin on Thursday, March 19, with Sean Blackwell, and he returns on Thursday, April 16. Sean's music carries the feeling of deep roots. Wayfarer's own event language paints him as someone shaped by music from the earliest days of life, and that sense comes through in how his sound feels lived-in rather than performed. He is the kind of artist who makes a room lean in and listen, and we are proud to welcome him back as a hometown favorite this spring.
On Wednesday, March 25, and again on Saturday, April 4, Joey Davis brings his brand of Americana to the Velvet Room. Joey is known for his work as a guitarist and songwriter connected to Oliver Anthony Music, and his playing carries that same honest, roots-driven energy.
Beyond that collaboration, he also leads his own projects and solo performances, which makes him an artist with both range and presence. When Joey plays, you get strong musicianship, real feeling, and songs that connect with people who love authentic American music.
Then on Thursday, March 26, we welcome Bowman & Burr. They are a duo brought together by a shared love of music, and that pairing gives the night its own charm. Something is inviting about a performance built on chemistry, conversation, and a sense of musical companionship. Bowman & Burr feel right at home in a listening room like the Velvet Room, where audiences can appreciate the warmth and personality that a duo brings to the stage.
On Friday, March 27, Benny Haggerty takes over the room with a sound rooted in Appalachian folk and blues. His music is described as intimate, story-driven, and full of raw Americana soul, drawing on mountain traditions while remaining fresh and personal. Benny is the kind of performer who turns a night of live music into something more memorable, less like a setlist and more like an evening shared.
And on Thursday, April 23, we close out this spring run with Jonah Carden. Jonah brings a broad repertoire and a style that puts his own signature on familiar songs. His ability to move across genres while still making the music feel personal gives his performances wide appeal. No matter who walks into the room, Jonah has a way of finding the song that reaches them.
