Wayfarer’s Heritage Pot Roast

“Like Grandma made it—if Grandma rode Harleys and knew clean ingredients.”

Ingredients:

3–4 lb grass-fed chuck roast
4–5 medium Yukon gold potatoes, quartered
4 large carrots, cut into big chunks
1 yellow onion, sliced

Wayfarer Onion Herb Spice Mix

2 tbsp dried minced onion
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp celery seed
1 tsp dried parsley
½ tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp turmeric (Optional)

Instructions:

  1. Place carrots, potatoes, and onion at the bottom of the crockpot.

  2. Rub the roast all over with the spice blend. Pat it in—treat it like the main act.

  3. Place the roast directly on top of the vegetables.

  4. Do not add water or broth—this is a self-saucing roast. The meat and veggies will release enough liquid as it slow cooks.

  5. Cover and cook on Low for 8–10 hours or High for 4–5 hours

Serve with:

Spoon juices over the top and garnish with fresh parsley if you want to dress it up. Rustic cornbread or a skillet biscuit on the side? Yes, ma’am.
