Live in the Velvet Room Brooke Foster

  • Wayfarer - Velvet Room 386 Main Street Tazewell, VA, 24651 United States (map)

Brooke Foster grew up in the Shenandoah Mountains, the daughter of a Virginia horseman and a mother whose English studies and Appalachian lineage tied their family to both Davy Crockett’s frontier courage and Edgar Allan Poe’s poetic depth. Her childhood wove together the strength of the mountains, the gentleness of horses, and the power of storytelling.

Throughout her life, Brooke was surrounded by steady, quiet influences—people who offered her warmth, encouragement, and a sense of belonging exactly when she needed it most. One of those bonds became lifelong: the cousin who grew into her closest companion, her chosen sister, and one of the deepest sources of her strength.

Brooke’s music carries all of this with her. It’s dark Americana threaded with ethereal folk-rock—haunting vocals, poetic lyrics, and the resilience of someone who has walked through shadows and learned to turn them into light. Inspired by the mystical softness of Stevie Nicks and the fierce spirit of Beth Dutton, Brooke creates from a place of wild heart, ancestral fire, and Appalachian truth.

She is the Moontouched Outlaw: soft-spoken but unbreakable, rooted in the land that raised her, and unafraid to sing the stories that made her.
