Songwriter Series - Ryan Moran, Charlie Young & Dan Heely

  • Wayfarer 386 Main Street Tazewell, VA, 24651 United States (map)

Ryan Moran is a songwriter with grit in his voice and fire in his pen. As a driving force behind the Moran Tripp Band, he brings southern rock alive with raw honesty and a hard-edged spirit. His songs ride the line between power and poetry—built on stories of backroads, broken strings, and the restless search for truth.

Steeped in the traditions of southern rock and outlaw country, Ryan writes with a voice that’s as unpolished as it is unforgettable. Each lyric feels lived-in, carrying the dust of dive bars, endless highways, and nights that stretch until dawn. With the Moran Tripp Band behind him, his songwriting transforms into anthems—equal parts grit and groove—that pull people onto the floor and into the moment.

Whether you catch him on stage or hear his songs pouring out of the speakers, Ryan Moran delivers music that isn’t just played—it’s lived.

Charlie Young is known for his songwriting and upright bass playing and with a deep-rooted passion for music shaped by influences such as JJ Cale, Kris Kristofferson, and Johnny Cash, Charlie brings a unique sound that resonates with authenticity and heartfelt storytelling.

Currently, Charlie is channeling his creative energy into his debut album, which will feature a collection of original music that showcases his distinctive voice and songwriting abilities. In September 2025, he will head to the iconic Muscle Shoals Sound Studios to begin recording, accompanied by a talented lineup that includes Dan Heely, Ryan Moran and Josh Bolyard,

Dan Heely is a singer-songwriter and guitarist whose sound is a vibrant blend of island rhythms, soulful blues, and timeless Motown. His music lives where the sway of palm trees meets the grit of a back-alley blues bar, weaving together breezy grooves, heartfelt melodies, and the kind of soul that lingers long after the last note.

With expressive guitar work and vocals that move effortlessly between smooth and powerful, Dan brings authenticity and emotion to every performance. Whether on a breezy patio or a late-night stage, his goal is simple: to make people feel — music that’s not just heard, but experienced.
